Our ADR list
It's starting (just starting) to dawn on me that we're actually GOING on this trip! It's been a wonderful time planning... and now one more piece of the puzzle is in place. Big thanks to Annette for taking care of this for us!
Here we go! What we have so far...
Monday, Aug 10: Sci-Fi Dine In at 5:20pm
Tuesday, Aug 11th: Chef Mickey's at 7:05am
(Wednesday, Aug 12th): Tokyo Dining (with Lou Mongello)
Thursday, Aug 13th: Cinderella's Royal Table at 12:05pm (with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the girls beforehand!)
Friday, Aug 14th: California Grill at 5:50pm
Saturday, Aug 15: Crystal Palace at 8:05am (nothing beats walking down an empty Main Street before the park opens...)
Sunday, Aug 16: Hoop de doo at 5pm (Category 1)
(Tuesday, Aug 18:) Tusker House breakfast
We're still waiting on confirmation for BBB, Tokyo Dining, and Tusker House. It seems like a lot of dining to me, but then again, we've never stayed at WDW this long before. Our last trip I think we had 2 ADRs total!
The other good news is that Tim's brother and his family will be joining us for part of the trip. Chris, Mary Jo, Sean (17), Connor (12), and Kalli (5) will be at WDW from Tues evening until Friday night. Tim's mom, Nora, and brother Jay might also be there at the same time. Kalli will be coming to the Castle lunch (and BBB) -- can't wait to see all the girls in their glory!

Countdown: 111 days!
Well, it's getting close to 90 days for us... our August trip is coming!
The news since last post: the dates of the trip now span 2 weeks. We'll be in Tampa for 4 days and Disney for 9 nights, 10 days. We were able to extend the WL package from 5 nights to 7 nights with the "buy 4, get 3" promotion. So 7 nights at the WL concierge followed by 2 nights at AKL.
I emailed Annette and Beci all of our dining wishes today. We have 7 nights on the dining plan now... hoping to put it to good use!
Mon Aug 10: Sci Fi for dinner (I know... the food is not great... but we're going for the theming)
Tues Aug 11: Chef Mickey's for breakfast
Weds Aug 12: Tokyo Dining for dinner
Thurs Aug 13: Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch(for my princess DD4)
Fri Aug 14: California Grill for dinner
Sat Aug 15: Crystal Palace for breakfast, T Rex for dinner (for DD6, the dino lover)
Sun Aug 16: Hoop de doo!!
Mon Aug 17: possible dinner with hubby... not sure, hoping for V&A's or Jiko.
Tues Aug 18: Tusker House for breakfast
Any thoughts or comments on these restaurants? The only ones we've been to recently are Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Everything else is new.
My only concern is that we'll be spending a lot of time at sit-down restaurants. My husband says he'll like it as we get to sit down out of the heat... and we'll have plenty of time to tour the parks as we're staying for 10 days. Our girls are 4 and 6, so food is not a huge priority for them... but the character meals and places like Sci Fi should interest them.

Countdown: 155 days
So there is a possibility that the trip might get longer...
My husband actually mentioned to me that his colleague (who will be down there the same time as us) had taken advantage of the buy 4/get 3 deal. He then said to me, "We're booked 2 nights at AKL... if we pay for 2 more nights we can get this deal." Which would put us at about 12 nights at Disney!
Well, of course, it's not that simple. The 4/3 deal includes tickets and staying at a moderate for the deal would cost about $1200, as opposed to the $600 we're paying for 2 nights at AKL (or maybe 3 nts at POFQ for $400). We both agreed that we would rather save the money and use it for something else.
BUT.... I did have the thought that we might be able to extend the contest package from 5 nights to 7 nights through the package! So that brings us up to where I am right now. My dedicated and hardworking travel agent Annette is trying to find us dates for the trip. Hopefully will know something soon. If we get the 7 nights at WL, we'll also add 2-3 more nights at either AKL or POFQ.
Fingers crossed!

Update
Countdown: 173 days
We now have our plane tickets for the beginning of the trip! I got nonstop one way tickets to Tampa, about $600 total. I was disappointed by the price but am hoping to get a Ding fare sometime in the next couple of months. It's early. In 2007 I was vigilant and got down to $475 (round trip) for the 4 of us!
I also talked to my husband and it looks like we'll be able to use my in-laws car, so we don't have to rent one. But that does mean that we will have to fly home from Tampa instead of Orlando as I planned. No big deal... in fact, that's how we've been doing it for the last bunch of years. Gives us a chance to see my in-laws one more time before we go home (and for the girls to swim in the pool... and for me to go to Rita's...) plus we get to fly out of Tampa Airport, which is much quieter than Orlando.
Can't do much more planning until April when we can start thinking about ADRs. Annette and Beci had asked me what we'd be interested in doing while we're there and I've been dreaming... Victoria and Albert's? Parasailing? We are hoping for at least one adult night out, as friends of Tim's will be there at the same time as us. He'd like to go to the California Grill with them, maybe do Jellyroll's after (my idea). And now it looks like Tim's mom, brother, other brother and family might be there too! I think we'll just end up planning some meals/activities and leaving the rest free so we can be flexible.
Enough rambling... time to go check out some menus on AllEars and dream...
